No, this isn’t an extract from a popular magazine’s “Most Interesting People” list, nor is it a menu of vocational choices available to competitive personality types.  It is a partial description of the accomplishments of one man with the name of Steve Matrix, founder of Day-Traders.com.   

Steve Matrix’s love and command of the trading markets began at the tender age of 9, when his impressionable ears caught excited chatter about the latest trades the more mature golfers were engaging in.  Before his first decade of life, his destiny of success in the following decades was already set.  Steve would trade, and trade successfully, and teach others the lessons he would learn in the years ahead.

After his time as a caddy, as a member of the US Marine Corps, Steve began trading part-time in earnest.  He developed, tested, and refined trading strategies with all the precision and determination that his exemplary Marine service could convey.  This discipline, crucial to successful trading, would continue to serve Steve well in the coming years.

It was then time to move to the private sector, and after a distinguished career with the Marine Corps, Steve was recruited to become an Executive for one of the world's largest cable TV companies. He continued trading part-time, refining and developing his arsenal of successful trading strategies.  Eventually, the pull of destiny made the choice an obvious one for Steve:  Leave the safe world of executive management, and follow the unique mix of allure, danger, and rewards available only as a full-time trader.

In the early 90's, nation-wide attention focused on Steve when his trading prowess was featured by Kiplinger's' Finance Magazine. And his success and fame have only grown since then.

Steve’s philosophy of trading in simple terms, he uses a combination of both fundamental and technical analysis to spot opportunities in the S&P E-Mini and Forex markets.  In essence, his focus is to take advantage of low-risk/high-return opportunities whenever and wherever he sees them.  Although he’s a contrarian by nature, he also frequently exercises flexibility in order to identify and profit from trends.  While he believes in the value of short-term market timing and trading, he also harnesses the power of taking on longer term positions when market conditions are ideal.

Steve is presented with a steady stream of invitations to do speaking and workshop engagements from all over the globe. He recently conducted advanced workshops in Moscow at the World Financial Expo as well as the New York Traders Expo, and has been invited back to do so again. After being widely featured by Russian TV and newspapers, requests for more of Steve’s time and expertise came in from Singapore, South Africa, and Brazil.  Because Steve is a family man, he has had to respectfully decline many of these requests, as they would take time that he would rather spend with his lovely wife and child, as well as spending time trading and teaching others closer to home. 

Steve is the author of the “CounterPoint Manual”,  “A Beginners Guide to Quickly Becoming Profitable Trading the E-Minis”, and developer of the well-known series of Fibonacci Cluster Locator software systems. His latest book, titled "Hey George, You Don't Have To Lose Money Trading…" is due for release in late-2005.

Founder of Day-Traders.com, one of the oldest and leading trading websites on the Internet, Steve also launched a live real-time trading room called EminiLive™ to teach his students the techniques that have served him so well. Due to popular demand, he recently launched ForexLive™ for traders around the globe who want to successfully engage the trillion dollar daily foreign exchange market.

In addition to his daily and trading rooms, Steve has begun DayTradersU, a training facility for the next generation of traders who will learn how to use his proven systems.

Now living the life of a long-time professional, successful trader who resides in a million dollar home (with all the accompanying creature comforts and 21^st century tools and toys) just minutes from the world famous Las Vegas Strip, Steve’s focus is clear.  He has dedicated himself to providing and developing software, books, presentations, techniques, and one-on-one personal tutoring with a single purpose:  To elevate the art, science, and business of trading, and share this improvement with other traders.
